It has been on the cards for several years now and all those who love Saabs have refused to accept that this great Swedish car manufacturer would come to an end. But it has and in January 2012, this Icon of Swedish manufacturing eventually finished completely. Top Gear, the British motoring show did a sort of tribute to Saab, deciding to show what was not good about Saab in their early days, but pretty much stating that their best cars were in the 1980’s and it was their inability to become commercial that was their downfall.

Most manufacturers share parts, design costs and technology to keep costs down, but even when General Motors gave them a very good footprint in the Vauxhall Vectra and were instructed to use parts already in place, Saab still did their own things, insisting that it was not up to their standards. The result was that far little of their vehicles, were in fact the same as the Vauxhall, something the public did not not probably know, except for their hard-core buyers.

I fact the Saab 900 was sometimes known as the Vectra in disguise when in fact this was not the case. Advertising that consisted of Saab fighter jets were to inspire buyers, except these fighters actually had Volvo engines within and then there is the simple fact that a motor car is not a fighting machine and there is very little cross over. The adverts obviously suited he marketing machine, but not the consumers who should have been buying in greater numbers.

The latest Saab was released too soon, to try and keep Saab alive, with this came issues and the car just didn’t sell.

What has never been mentioned is that very manufactures do one type of car, the profitable ones build cars in different sizes and for different needs, where Saab was just about the executive driver. Even Volvo have a range of 4×4 vehicles and smaller saloon and hatchbacks to choose from. Their whole market was based on one customer type and of course this is dangerous.

It is a shame that many of these vehicles will find themselves in breaker yards and when they become old enough to be a scrap car, will enough people want to keep them on the road. Of course these vehicles do tend to last a long time anyway and so we probably have 10 years to wait before this occurs.

So bye bye to something special.

We may forget that what is happening in Sweden also affects other parts of the world and so Saab GB which employs 55 people has put itself into voluntary administration.

The Swedish administrator want to apply to finish the protection the Swedish company has from bankruptcy, this is to happen the next week. If this is successful and new finance cannot be raised, this may Saab operation, so until finance is raised in the Sweden, the UK administration looks after what is happening back in the UK.

Saab GB is responsible for UK dealerships as well as car part distribution. As this continues warranties are still being honoured and part supplies are still in place, with supplies still being delivered from Sweden.

We are back in the same place again with Saab where has been reported that 600m euros need to be found within days to avoid bankruptcy.

Protection from such a fate had been sanctioned back in September, but it now looks like that protection is being challenged and unless money is raised or at least some guarantees, it may be that previous court ruling will be changed and Saab will see its last days in motor production.

There are discussions regarding loans and ownership, which have been fought by General Motors in the past, as previous owners they still licence certain technology, specifically at Zhejiang Youngman wanting to own some of Saab, but it looks that if loans are secured from China, agreement form GM may not be needed.

Once again we wait to see if this great Swedish car manufacturer will survive difficult times and if it does, will it keeps its roots.

It looks like the Swedish courts have save SAAB for the time being of becoming bankrupt and the brand moves on once again. It is something that the UK just let go that motoring heritage that dominated the world. Not the UK still make cars for lots of brands, but probably only one that is back to be UK owned. so it is not quite end of the road.

The challenges of a car manufacture are well beyond country wide, even when GM motors owned it, the Saab became an upmarket VAUXHALL Vectra, sharing many of its parts and chassis. It is a shame because this Swedish car really does offer something different in design and although really doesn’t match up to the BME’s and Merc’s of the world, they always were just that bit different.

The chalenge of course is the consumer who does not want to buy a car that will depreciate like hell should the firm go under and of course the company needs more sales to really survive. catch 22. You can’t image that in 20 years time the last Saabs will be nothing more than scrap cars, as they don’t go far enough to be deemed as valuable enough to keep on the road, until we get down to very low numbers of course.

There should still be a good supply of car parts with the relationship with GM and others, so there will not be an issue with keeping these cars running, but of course technology moves very quickly and it does tend to be harder or not worth keeping the larger cars on the road as they get older. We hope that a saviour comes along to invest in the company, but in these uncertain time, don’t hold your breath.

Saab have announced a unique accreditation for all SEO and online marketing firms that it uses.

Any SEO company that works with Saab must now be inspected by the Swedish manufacturer and be approved as a Certified Lead Management Provider (CLMP). The standard also applies to software used by the firms which must also be fully authorised and accredited by Microsoft. The announcement follows on from an initiative by Mitsubishi who developed a similar program earlier in April.

The CLMP enforces the importance and development of Search Engine Optimisation and online marketing in the automotive industry, and how the consolidate the dealers marketing to drive forward both the dealerships internal marketing and internal management.

The introduction of these policies has also help enforce the growth of Saab since it was acquired from General Motors by German manufacturers Spyker in late January 2010, the rumoured approval of an emergency funding deal with Chinese firm Hawtai Motors has also set in motion further investments in the marketing department by Saab.

With the world economy still recovering online marketing is taking pole position as the number one method of promotion in the automotive industry due to both the price of digital advertising space and its massive success in other sectors.

Cars that have been damaged beyond repair usually end up in the car salvage yards. However, the auto parts in these cars are sometimes in a good condition and often sold off as spares at cheap prices. If you want cheap OEM spares for your Saab automobile, the best place to look for them is at your local Saab car salvage yard

Insurance companies, on behalf of their clients, usually assess the value of such damaged cars that cannot be repaired and sell them off to these yards. A variety of cars including luxury cars, SUVs, vans and trucks can be bought at these yards for totally affordable prices.

Usually, a luxury car that has been in a collision is usually put up for sale by the owners because of high repair costs. These cars are then sent to the salvage yards, after a decent cosmetic makeover, and are sold off at reasonable prices. So if you are a salvage car repairer, you can make some really good profits by purchasing luxury Saab cars from the Saab car salvage yards and sell them for a good price after repair.

In case you don’t want to buy a car, you can always visit the Saab auto salvage yards for some good quality OEM spares at low cost. Not just for your brand new sedan or SUV, but salvage yards also have spares for cars as old as 15 or 20 years.

Cars on contract hire basis have been a very popular choice of many companies in the UK. But these days, more and more individuals are also choosing contract hire cars over company cars as they are not very expensive and offer flexibility in choice and usage. To get some really good Saab contract hire deals, you should keep in mind these tips.

First, considering the duration for which you’ll need the car, check the lease duration and see if there is any early termination penalty. Select the lease term as per your requirements and avoid being influenced by dealers who may push you to take longer contracts.

Second, be aware of the various charges you may have to pay for excess miles, wear and tear, etc during the lease period. Considering the usage and the approximate distance you’re going to travel in the leased Saab, choose a Saab contract hire that offers feasible mileage options and charges reasonably for excesses. Probe the dealers to learn about any other hidden charges you may need to bear.

Finally, be open to the various choices of Saab cars in the market and avoid being too specific about the Saab contract hire deal you want. This way, you can get some of the best of Saab cars on lease at the cheapest possible rates.

Auto salvage auctions are the best choice if you want to buy used auto spare parts in a good condition. Look for modern Saab auto salvage yards if you want good quality, cheap auto parts like seats, headlights, radiators, alternators, bumpers, taillights and more for your Saab. By choosing a reliable network of auto salvage dealers, you not only save your money, but also the time spent on searching for auto parts in a junkyard.

There are many reasons why it is better to buy used auto parts from an auto salvage dealer. First, you save a lot on money. Second, by choosing second hand spares, you are reducing the junk and the pollution caused by excess manufacturing, and thereby contributing to the safety of our environment.

When you purchase spares from the Saab auto salvage yards, you are encouraging people to sell their unfit Saab cars and auto parts to car salvage yards and also make some gains. Not just that, most of the damaged vehicles are usually sold to salvage yards by insurance companies, which is a reason why your insurance rates are lower.

Unlike the general misconception, the auto parts from reliable Saab auto salvage yards are often in very good condition and can be as good as new with just a few repairs. So if you want the best quality OEM spares at cheap rates, the salvaged Saab auto parts are the best choice.

The Saab 9-5, which is a huge car with lots of leg room and space, comfortable interiors, and turbo engines that deliver a good performance, can be ideal if you want a stable ride on the motorways. Whether you want to purchase or go for a Saab 9 5 car lease, you will get an economical, reliable and safe deal.

Leasing cars has become popular in the UK during recession as not many people could afford purchasing one. Now-a-days, there are a number of car leasing companies in the market that offer attractive and affordable Saab 9 5 car lease options not just for individuals but also businesses that are still recovering from the economic downturn.

One of the major advantages businesses can enjoy from leasing cars is lesser sales tax on all the vehicles hired on contract, as the sales tax is payable by the lessee only for the duration of the lease period. Another advangtage of leasing is that the business does not have to worry about disposing or reselling vehicles that are not needed any more.

Also, there are no hassles of repair or maintenance as the new cars leased come with a company warranty and are returned before the warranty expires. These advantages along with the flexi lease options that are both convenient and affordable, make the Saab 9 5 car lease a smart choice, especially for businesses.

The Saab 9 3 is a premium sedan that comes in three styles –a four door sedan, and a 2 door convertible and a 4 door wagon known as the SportCombi. No matter which model you want, the affordable Saab 9 3 car lease options available today can help you get one. But to make sure you’re getting into the right car hire contract, you need to ensure three things.

First is the term or duration of the lease. It can range anywhere from 12 moths to 3 years but before choosing a long term lease, be sure that you want to drive the car for so long. Second, consider the cost you are going to incur. This includes acquisition fee, registration fee, security deposit, monthly lease amounts etc. While the fees and deposits have to be paid at the time of signing the lease agreement, the instalment for your Saab 9 3 car lease is paid on a monthly basis.

Finally, have a clear understanding of the lease agreement clauses. Check the restrictions on number of miles you can travel, what all are covered under ‘wear and tear’ and the additional charges you have to bear for it. Also, find out the charges you need to pay in case of early termination of the lease and take the Saab 9 3 car lease only if you are comfortable with all the terms and conditions.
